2012 - Some of this years winter projects.
Extending the border in front of the Lonicera nitida hedge by about a metre, the existing sleepers were dug up and secured, and three tonnes of top soil was then being brought in. Many of the plants that had been overgrown by the hedge have been potted up and will now be replanted with the new planting scheme in the spring.
Erecting a trellis. Digging up two small islands in the pond that were affecting the flow of water, and working on the surrounding banks and repairing the terraced beds. Many of the pond plants have been transplanted, and the hurdles added to soften the far bank. Attaching two trellis sections for a Jasmine
Trimming and shaping a large conifer using a Henchman platform and the Stihl long reach hedge trimmer, with the chain saw attachment used to reduce the height.
The conifer at the back is growing intro the lower branches of the Cedar, spoiling the wonderful outline of the tree.
The conifer has had the height reduced, and will now be kept at this height with yearly trimmings. An earlier project, designed constructed and planted. Another couple of earlier natural stone projects
